Thanksgiving Day

As you know, Thanksgiving Day is as important for American people as Christmas for us. They meet, celebrate and enjoy  some days remembering some important moments in their history. If you want to know more about the origin of this festival and how it is celebrated nowadays you could try to do this "treasure hunt". Here you will see some links to answer short questions and after collecting a lot of information, you will be able to answer the big question.

Spaghetti and meatballs

Have you counted how many times we have seen this dish in our unit? In Spain, we usually eat spaghetti with mince meat cooked differently, but it seems in Italy and in England they do it in a different way. We are going to work using a video with this recipe made by Jamie Oliver, one of the best known cook in the world. You can choose between two activities:
a) Copy all the steps you must follow to cook the spaghetti with meatballs, or

b) Make a list with the tools used by J. Oliver during the video.

This is a kind of joke for my pupils of first secondary education course (1º D). Perhaps, you can think this is too  childish for such mature people as you, but this is my 'funny' way for you to practise the vocabulary of unit number one. I'll try to get something really interesting next time.

Hello everybody!

This is going to be our new way to get in touch, to work together and to communicate after school. I suppose the people who know me have in mind that I am not very good at technology, so I hope you will be patient with my efforts to work through this tool.
My intention is to use this blog to get in touch with students and their parents (let's first see if it works with 1st and 2nd ESO students). Dates of exams, contents, extra activities, homework, remedial and reinforcement activities  could be included. We will also include videos, songs, culture corners, grammar flashes, games, quizzes and funny things like these.
I would also be glad to know that other friends and colleages read my blog, that's to say OUR blog, as a way of sharing experiences and comments.
